Overview
The top end of Australia is a very special place. It is rich with Aboriginal culture, full of amazing scenery and a wonderful place to explore. Boomerang Adventures has designed an amazing adventure in this area for students wishing for a trip of a lifetime for their Gold Award.
This trip includes 5 days on the World Famous Jatbula Trail. This trail is in the Nitmiluk National Park and runs from the famous Nitmiluk Gorge (Kathrine Gorge) to Leliyn (Edith Falls). The trail is an ancient Song Line used by the Jawoyn people. The walk itself goes through numerous different vegetation lands, exposes you to amazing Aboriginal rock art, and has beautiful swimming holes at the end of each day’s walk.
The second part of this adventure takes us into Kakadu National Park where we do another 4 days walking, camping in remote places, and exploring some of the best places Kakadu has to offer.
This adventure is an amazing experience in a stunning part of our country. We hope your students may be able to experience this adventure as a fitting way to complete their Duke of Ed program.
